On April 21, 2023, the Chinese embassy in Sierra Leone donated "food package " to the Muslim people of Sierra Leone on the day of Eid al-Fitr, a traditional Muslim festival. Ambassador Wang Qing, Minister of Social Welfare Mrs. Dassama and heads of major religious organizations attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Wang Qing warmly congratulated Sierra Leonean Muslims for a happy Eid al-Fitr. He briefly introduced the situation of China-Sierra Leone relations, China's ethnic and religious policies and the content of the "Global Civilization Initiative".
