On September 6, 2023, on the invitation of University of Management and Technology of Sierra Leone, H.E. Wang Qing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Sierra Leone paid a courtesy visit to the university. Ambassador Wang met with the Chancellor Prof. Dr. Paul Kamara, engaged with the Vice Chancellor and Former Statistician General Prof. Osman Sankoh, and interacted with the teachers and students.

    Ambassador Wang Qing introduced the fruitful results of friendly cooperation between China and Sierra Leone since the establishment of diplomatic relations 52 years ago. He expressed that China actively supports the education and human resources development of Sierra Leone by providing scholarships to Sierra Leonean students. Currently, China-Sierra Leone relations are facing new development opportunities. China will align with the development strategy of the new Sierra Leonean government, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of people-to-people exchange, support the development of education institutions including the University of Management and Technology of Sierra Leone, and promote continuous new progress in the China-Sierra Leone comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
