Ambassador Wang congratulated the 189 scholarship recipients on their upcoming study in China, reviewed the fruitful cooperation results in education and human capital building achieved by the two sides in the past 53 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sierra Leone. Amb. Wang said that the two sides reached an important consensus on deepening the cooperation in education and other fields during the successful state visit of H.E. President Julius Maada Bio to China in February this year, and that Chinese side is willing to implement the results of the visit with the Sierra Leonean side, and to continue to deepen the cooperation in education and people-to -people exchanges to better benefit the two peoples.  It is hoped that the international students will cherish the opportunity and achieve success in their studies, and in the future become the backbone of Sierra Leonean national construction and the inheritors of Sino-Sierra Leonean friendship.

On behalf of the Sierra Leonean government, Minister Wurie and Director General Sulimani thanked China for its long-term support in education and other fields, positively evaluated the fruitful achievements of the cooperation between Sierra Leone and China, said the Sierra Leonean government attaches great importance to the development of human capital, and is looking forward to further strengthening the cooperation in education and people-to -people exchanges. They also encouraged the international students to make full use of the opportunity of going to China to study, and continue to pursue excellence and progress, so as to promote the friendship and cooperation between China and Sierra Leone.
