On October 25, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone participated in the annual charity marathon "Fighting Breast Cancer" in Freetown. Ambassador Wang Qing, the embassy diplomats and their families joined the race, and achieved good results in the 13.5km and 5km events.

Since 2013, the “Thinking Pink” Breast Cancer Foundation organized this event annually in October, the Global Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a prominent charity event in Freetown, the event aims to raise public awareness of breast cancer and raise donations to support breast cancer education, screening, and treatment for diagnosed patients in Sierra Leone.

The event attracts a large number of local residents, especially young people to join, every year. The organizers and all sectors of Sierra Leone highly appreciate the active participation of Chinese diplomats and their families, and sincerely thank the Embassy for its strong support for the development of Sierra Leone's health sector and the philanthropic work of non-governmental organizations.
