On June 24, 2024, Ambassador Wang Qing and The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources Dugba signed the Implementation Agreement of the China-Aided Fish Harbour Project. The two sides also had friendly exchanges on further deepening China-Sierra Leone fishery cooperation.

Ambassador Wang Qing said that the signing of the implementation agreement of the China-Aided Fish Harbour Project is an important action for both sides to implement the results of President Bio's state visit to China in February, and it is also another practical measure for China to support Sierra Leone's economic and social development. China-Sierra Leone fishery cooperation has achieved remarkable results and has greatly benefited the people of both countries. It is believed that the completion of the Fish Harbour will push China-Sierra Leone fishery cooperation to a new level and further deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries. China is willing to work with Sierra Leone to promote the China-Sierra Leone comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to make new progress under the guidance of the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries.

Minister Dugba thanked the Chinese government and people for their long-term valuable assistance to Sierra Leone on behalf of President Bio and the Sierra Leonean government, and said that the Fish Harbour is a livelihood project that the Sierra Leonean government and people have long been looking forward to. It not only fills the gap in Sierra Leone's fishery development infrastructure, but also plays an important role in creating jobs and improving people's living standards. It is a new milestone in the development of Sierra Leone's fishery. Sierra Leone looks forward to further deepening friendly cooperation with China in areas such as fisheries to better benefit the people of the two countries.
