On January 27, Ambassador Zhao Yong , Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone and H.E. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone graced the launch ceremony of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report by China Railway Seventh Engineering Group Sierra Leone Limited. The event was also attended by Counsellor Wang Peng, Minister of Works and Public Assets Sandy, other senior government officials, as well as representatives from Chinese enterprises in Sierra Leone and communities leaders. 

Ambassador Zhao Yong noted that practical cooperation between China and Sierra Leone has yielded fruitful results. China stands ready to deepen cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Sierra Leone in areas such as infrastructure construction, livelihood improvement, and green development, and thereby consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.

President Bio highly commended the sustainable development philosophy of China Railway Seventh Group Sierra Leone Limited, and its exemplary practices in maintaining transparent operations, respecting local communities and the environment, and supporting the development of young employees. He reiterated that the Sierra Leonean government will continue to foster a favourable business environment, and welcomed responsible Chinese enterprises to invest and expand their operations in Sierra Leone.
