On 31 October, the half-marathon for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, hosted by the Sierra Leonean charity Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation, was held in Freetown as scheduled. Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone, Senior Colonel Pu Lin, led the Embassy's diplomats and their family members in enthusiastic participation in the race.

Originating in 2013, the event is a well-known charity gathering held in Freetown during World Cancer Awareness Month. Through the marathon, the Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation raises funds to carry out community education on breast cancer, breast screening, and patient assistance locally, and the activity is widely welcomed by local youth and residents. The Chinese Embassy has supported the organizer for years running, demonstrating in concrete action its support for Sierra Leone's public health and charity undertakings.
