On June 24, young diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone were invited to attend Talk to China, an interview program produced by Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC). Wu Cui, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sierra Leone, together with outstanding alumni of the Institute, took part in the recording.
The representative of young diplomats elaborated on China's efforts to boost people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Sierra Leone, hoping that both sides will take the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the Year of China-Africa People-to-People Exchanges as a new starting point to carry forward the long-standing friendship between the two countries, deepen mutual learning between civilizations, and bring the peoples of the two nations closer to each other.
Director Wu shared the fruitful progress made by the Confucius Institute in promoting Chinese language education and strengthening people-to-people ties. Two outstanding students recounted their study and exchange experiences in China based on their personal growth journeys. All present encouraged more young Sierra Leoneans to learn and master Chinese, and contribute to cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Talk to China is a special series launched by SLBC to mark the 55th anniversary of China-Sierra Leone diplomatic relations.
