On June 25, Ambassador Zhao Yong met with members of the Sierra Leone Parliamentary Female Caucus and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Zhao briefed the meeting on the development and progress of women's cause since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and expressed China's readiness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Sierra Leone in areas such as legislative affairs and women's empowerment, so as to jointly promote the comprehensive development of China-Sierra Leone relations. 

Hon. Bernardette Wuyatta Songa, President of the Parliamentary Female Caucus and member of the Sierra Leone China Parliamentary Friendship Group, spoke highly of the friendly relations between the two countries and China's development achievements across various fields. She expressed the hope to actively draw on China's successful experience to promote the development and progress of women's causes in Sierra Leone.
