On July 11, 2005, Assistant Foreign Minister Shen Guofang met with Sierra Leonean Minister of Information Septimus Kaikai.

Shen Guofang made positive comments on China-Sierra Leone traditional friendship and friendly cooperation and he expressed his appreciation of Sierra Leone's adherence to the One China policy. He said that information cooperation is an important field of the development of China-Sierra Leone relations which is of positive significance to the enhancement of mutual understanding of the two peoples. He hoped the two sides can further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in this field.

Septimus Kaikai agreed with Shen Guofang on his suggestion to enhance information exchanges of the two countries and thanked the Chinese side for its unselfish help to Sierra Leone for many years. He said that Sierra Leone attaches great importance to Sierra Leone-China friendly and cooperative relations and will continue to pursue the One China policy.

Septimus Kaikai visited China at the invitation of the Information Office of the State Council.
